Why Manage Wastewater Contaminants for Engine Wash?
Typical wastewater contaminants include fuel, oils, lubricants, detergents, and heavy metals. For example, nickel and cadmium are prevalent in the washing of C-130 aircraft engines because the compressor vanes/blades assembly is electroplated with nickel/cadmium for corrosion control. Alcohol and high concentrations of oil and grease may also be present where helicopter engines are washed. Kennon saw a need for a quick, lightweight, deployable, easy to install Engine Wash Collection system that maintainers could use to catch the wash water and drain it into waste containers.
